Coverage of the 2022 Housekeeping Forum
See the link for the coverage from this year’s Housekeeping Forum, held at the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
Lots of discussed, from how Toronto’s biggest hotels transitioned during the pandemic and mental health to the current labor shortages which aren’t going away any time soon for hotels! Adam Mogelonsky was a panelist for ‘The Theatre of Clean’ where he touched on how, in the post-pandemic travel era, guests just want a great experience, with guestroom cleanliness as one aspect towards delivering peace of mind.
“The whole idea of theater is that it’s production. So, from the guest perspective, whatever is going on behind in the back of house, they don’t know or care. They’re focused on just having a good time or going off to a conference. The second the room is cleaned, you have an automated message that says your room has been cleaned and is ready and serviced according to XYZ standards for cleaning and sanitization. Just something so simple as that is the delivery of peace of mind. You don’t need to have a full list of your cleaning standards on the website — they’re not going to read that. All they care about is that the hotel has a standard and that you’re looking out for their best interests.
